The 1958 San Francisco 49ers season was the team's ninth in the NFL. They began the season hoping to improve upon their 8-4 output from the previous season. However, a four game road trip in which the 49ers only won one game doomed their playoff chances.

Top Players[]

Both of the team's quarterbacks, Y.A. Tittle and John Brodie, would each start six of the twelve games and would each end the season with similar statistics. Joe Perry rushed for 758 yards and 4 touchdowns, and Hugh McElhenny added 451 yards and 6 TDs. The Niners had a trio of receiving threats: Clyde Conner (49 catches, 512 yards, 5 touchdowns), Billy Wilson (43-592-5) and R.C. Owens (40-620-1). [1]
