Notes[]
In 2010, the NCAA ruled that USC had to vacate its last two wins of the 2004 season and all victories in the 2005 season due to RB Reggie Bush receiving improper gifts. Bush had won the 2005 Heisman Trophy, but voluntarily returned the award amid reports that the Heisman Trophy Trust would strip him of the trophy. The Heisman Trust has since declared the 2005 Heisman winner title vacant.
In 2021, with the NCAA allowing players to make money on name, image & likeness deals, Bush began advocating for the return of his Heisman.
