The Memphis Tigers football team represents the University of Memphis located in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to July 1, 1994, the school was known as Memphis State University.

The Tigers are a member of the FBS American Athletic Conference, which they joined in 2014. From 1995 to 2013, Memphis was a member of Conference USA.

The Tigers play their home games at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis and are currently coached by Ryan Silverfield.

Since their inaugural season in 1912, the Memphis Tigers have won over 450 games and appeared in nine bowl games. The program has also claimed five conference championships with the most recent coming in 2014.
