The Texas Tech Red Raiders football teams (1925 to 1980) represented Texas Tech University (known as Texas Technological College until 1969) in the college football seasons of 1925/26 to 1980/81. The teams played their home games at Tech Field and, later, at Clifford B. and Audrey Jones Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. From 1925 to 1936, the teams were called the Matadors.
